                  SHOOTING OF STEEL

Reading this could save you a lot of pain.    The past couple of years members have been bringing out portable steel targets and in some cases leaving them for others to use. This may sound like a good thing to do, but I assure you it is not.

The club has no steel targets at less than 100 yards. The reason is steel becomes pot marked and when shot at close range will throw the bullets or parts thereof, back in the shooters direction. This can result in severe injury to shooters or bystanders. When steel targets are shot during a match, they are tailored to the match activity. Meaning caliber, bullet type, angle of steel, etc.. Plus it is mandatory in steel matches of less than 100 yards that you wear eye protection, which is always recommended while shooting. I hope this info will help save someone an injury.

Public Sight-in days were down a little due to the mix up on F&G opening dates. $818.25, and made the public happy. A big THANK YOU to all the volunteers, who helped make it a safe event.

Special note for members interested in a warm place to shoot this winter. Try

the Greenway Indoor Range located at the Gallatin City Fairgrounds. Open and league shooting available 6 days a week. Call Andy for info @ 580-1903.
